Setting up SIP2 in Symphony
When your library uses SIP2 to process patron self-checks through the BLUEcloud Mobile app, you may need to make some adjustments to some SIP2 configurations and messages. The following table describes some configurations changes you can make to ensure that patrons can successfully complete certain tasks with self-check.

Checkouts such as this should renew with a second checkout in Symphony. You can edit this setting in Symphony Workflows: From the Circulation toolbar, click User group > Display User Wizard > (User ID) > Checkout tab > (Item ID). |
Checking out an item when a patron has fines. |
Unless the patrons are blocked, they can still check out an item when they have unpaid bills in Symphony. |
Assuring the patron that a checkin of an item that is "missing" and is actually checked in with an updated status. |
In the /Unicorn/Language/Custom/English/messages file, edit the message to be more user friendly. |
Checking out and in an item that belongs to an academic reserves collection. |
Edit the /Unicorn/Config/sip2.cfg configuration file to have the following port being used, in order for that item under reserve control to be checked in/checked out via Symphony:

Checking out an item with a due date beyond patron expiration date. |
In order for a soon-to-expire patron to check out an item for the full length of the loan period, change the port setting in the /Unicorn/Config/sip2.cfg file to this:
If you want the due date to be the same as the patron expiration date, use this configuration:
