Fields: Edit Tab: Home Screen

The Home Screen displays the tabs available to the patron. In addition, you can include a carousel of book titles that cycle at the top of the Home Screen tab. You can define the titles in the carousel as well as up to nine other feeds that are presented as lists on a separate page.

Mobile Apps > [select the Home Screen tab] > Edit Tab - Home Screen

The Edit Tab: Home Screen page has these options:

Show Search on Homescreen

Specifies how or whether the search field appears on the Homescreen. You have three options: Always, Post-Login (the search field appears only after the user has signed in), and Never.

Search Configuration

Displays a list of the BLUEcloud institutions in your organization. When you select an institution, the Library Search options for that institution display below the institution name.

After you select an institution, you then have the following options to configure the search:

  • Institution list—Displays a list of the BLUEcloud institutions in your organization. When you select an institution, the Library Search options for that institution display below the institution name.
  • Default Search Limit—Specifies the BLUEcloud Search Limit, if any, to apply to the library search.
  • Expanded Search Limit—Specifies the BLUEcloud Search Limit, if any, to include as an alternate to the Default Search Limit. Typically, this search limit provides the user a wider search. When you specify an Expanded Search Limit, the app displays an ellipses icon ( "..." ) next to the search limit. When you select to provide no Expanded Search Limit, a cancel icon ( "x" ) is displayed next to the search limit in the app to allow users to clear the Default Search Limit (if one is enabled).
  • Search Target—Specifies the BLUEcloud Search Target, if any, to search against.
  • Include ISBN Scanner—Specifies whether to display the ISBN Scanner option on the tab.
  • Include Result Indicators—Specifies whether to display numbers on the thumbnails of each item in the search results, indicating their position in the search results.

Carousel Feeds

Displays the titles of Feed 1 as a carousel that highlights one title at a time. Below the carousel is a More button that opens a tab that displays all of the feeds that you have defined. When disabled, no title feeds are displayed in the app.

Homescreen Display

Specifies how the carousel displays on the Home page of the app. When Autoscroll is enabled, the items in the carousel automatically cycle to show each item in the list. Users can choose to manually move to the next or previous item.

When disabled, the items do not cycle through the list unless the user manually selects to move to the next or previous item. You can display the items as a Coverflow (several items appear on the list with one centered as the focus) or Slide (several items appear on the list without any one item as the focus).

Feed 1-10

A feed is an individual list of items in your ILS. You have these options:

Option Description

Title

A descriptive category name that will appear above the list of items in the feed. You can also define languages for the title by choosing the flag and then choosing a language for the title.

Type

Specifies the means of identifying the items to include in the feed. You have these options:

  • Bibliographic ID—Specifies the bib identification numbers, as found in the ILS. In SirsiDynix Horizon, this is the bib number. For Symphony systems, use the Catalog Key as the Bibliographic ID. For information on how to display Catalog Key fields in the Cataloging Wizard windows, see "Configure Display of Catalog Key Policy" in the WorkFlows Help.
  • ISBN—Specifies the ISBN numbers of the items.
  • Enterprise RSS—Specifies an RSS feed from a search performed in SirsiDynix Enterprise. BLUEcloud Mobile displays the first 30 items defined in the list to display in the feed.

Items

Specifies the items to include in the feed. Separate each Bibliographic ID or ISBN with a comma, depending on the type. If the feed type is for Enterprise RSS, enter the RSS URL (enter only a single URL).

Important: Only the first 30 IDs or ISBN numbers listed in the Items box can be displayed in the carousel on the app.

Note: For Symphony systems, use the Catalog Key as the Bibliographic ID. For information on how to display Catalog Key fields in the Cataloging Wizard windows, see "Configure Display of Catalog Key Policy" in the WorkFlows Help.
